guild layout

How I made this layout.

01. open up a new canvas, I make mine 1000x1000 almost every time. since it's simple to type out. ;P make yours what ever you want though.

02. find a bunch of pictures and blend them together! i used around 15 or so for this layout, but you don't have to use that many. i used pictures from veritaserum. go here for a tutorial on blending.

03. now use your eyedropper tool to pick your background color. it looks much better if the background color is actually from you guild layout, instead of like lime green when your layout's pink or something. o_____O; make a layer /underneath/ the pictures you blended, and fill it with that color.
optional make a new layer underneath your background color and fill it with a pattern. Then set the colored background layer to an opacity of about 80-90% so the pattern blends with that color.

04. now you will need to merge all the pictures you blended into one layer if you haven't done so already.

05. i then sharpened the picture. then duplicate that layer and set it to screen, duplicate it again and set it to soft light.

06. make a new raster layer, and fill it with 632626, set it to multiply at 24%.

07. make a new raster layer, and fill it with 200E05, set it to screen at 53%.

08. make a new raster layer, and fill it with CDA55F, set it to multiply at 100%.

09. make a new raster layer, and fill it with 18253D, set it to difference at 9%.

10. make a new raster layer, and fill it with black, set it to saturation at 29%.

11. Now, it may have turned out really dark. if that's the case, go back to the screen layer and duplicate it, maybe even more than once depending on your layout. if that coloring just doesn't work for your layout, just mess around and find out what does! go back to the tutorial sections to find other coloring tutorials made by me. Dx

12. One more thing that may or may not help lighten it up a bit... make a new curves layer, and click on the button on the right that says 'auto' then mess around with the opacity of that layer and see if it helps or not. ;P i left this layout a bit on the darker side.

13. now you can make blogs. (: go to this tutorial to learn a few different techniques i do with blogs. otherwise, just make a new layout, make a box with the selection tool, fill it with white, and mess with the opacity.

14. Now for the text! Just put your guild name on it, obviously in a bigger font, a credit, and any other decorative text you wish. on this layout i used the fonts hannibal lectur, carnivalee, and palatino linotype, which you can download here. Palotino linotype should already be on your computer.

15. & ... done! you're pretty much finished! just add any textures and brushes as you wish. (: feel free to check out ours, and any in the credits section.
